Beta Agreement
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Keystone AI LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("Keystone," "we," "us," or "our"), which operates Living Yard Coach (the "Service"), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the beta version of the Service. Read it together with our Beta Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Beta note: The Service is pre-release. Our data practices, providers, and this policy may change as the Service evolves. Your data may also be reset or deleted during the beta — keep your own copies of anything important.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — such as your name, email address, and login credentials.
- Garden and site data — information about your yard, beds, plants, location, and site conditions (for example, sun/shade, soil, and terrain) that you enter or that the Service derives to give you guidance.
- Photos and uploads — images of your yard, plants, or garden that you choose to upload.
- Voice and audio — voice recordings or audio you provide, which we convert to text (transcribe) to power voice features.
- Chat and conversation content — the messages and questions you send to the AI coach, and its responses.
- Communications — messages, feedback, and support requests you send us.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data — such as log data, device and browser type, IP address, general location inferred from IP, pages or features used, and timestamps. We use this to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you logged in and to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
- Generate gardening guidance, plant information, and other AI features you request;
- Transcribe your voice input and analyze your photos to power features such as plant identification and site analysis;
- Communicate with you about the beta, respond to support requests, and send service-related notices;
- Understand usage, fix bugs, and improve and develop the Service; and
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. How AI Features Process Your Information
To provide AI features, your information — including chat messages, transcribed voice input, and uploaded photos — may be sent to and processed by third-party AI and infrastructure providers, such as:
- AI model providers (for example, Anthropic and OpenAI) that generate the coach's responses and analysis;
- Speech-to-text providers that transcribe your voice input;
- Cloud hosting, storage, and database providers that run the Service.
These providers process your information on our behalf to deliver the Service, and their handling of data is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Please do not submit anything through the Service that you are not comfortable sharing with these providers.
4. No Biometric Identifiers (Illinois BIPA)
We take Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act seriously. We use voice recordings only to transcribe your words, and photos only to power gardening features. We do not collect, capture, or use voiceprints, faceprints, scans of face or hand geometry, or any other biometric identifier or biometric information, and we do not use voice or facial recognition to identify any individual.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only:
- With service providers and processors who perform functions on our behalf (AI, hosting, storage, transcription, authentication, analytics, and similar), under obligations to protect it;
- For legal reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Keystone, our users, or others;
- In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy or notify you; and
- With your direction or consent.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward only as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes. Because this is a beta, your data may be reset or deleted at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated content by contacting us at david@livingyard.net, and we will delete it except where we are required or permitted to retain it.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and — as beta software — the Service may contain vulnerabilities. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Service at your own risk.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Access and update much of your account and garden information directly in the Service;
- Request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information by emailing david@livingyard.net;
- Opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us (we may still send service-related messages); and
- Close your account at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. We will honor rights that apply to you; to exercise them, contact david@livingyard.net. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Where Your Information Is Processed
We and our providers are based in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the beta evolves. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email or in-app notice). Your continued use after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
